  • A scenic walk through the colorful Bo-Kaap district, where you'll discover the diverse culture, lifestyle, and the significant contributions of Cape Town's Muslim community to the growth of South Africa

South Africa now requires that foreign passport holders have a minimum of two (2) blank pages in their passport to enable the entry visa to be issued. From 1 October 2014, children traveling in and out of South Africa will be required to carry an unabridged birth certificate as well as a valid passport, under new regulations aimed at improving the safety of children. For more information on this requirement please contact us.

Tipping is not compulsory.  If you have received good service, we recommend: Restaurants minimum 10% of the bill. Game Lodges R 75/person/night to your ranger and rest of lodge staff R 50/person. Guides and drivers are generally also given tips.

Urban areas 60 km ph, rural areas 100 km ph, freeways 120 km ph. An International Driving Permit is recommended (valid driver’s licenses are accepted, provided they have a clear photograph and English print)

Passport holders of more than 80 countries, including the USA, Canada, Japan and the EU, can visit without visas. Contact your nearest SA Tourism office or South African Consulate for an updated list. Please note that 1-2 blank pages in your passport is a requirement for visitors entering South Africa.

Visitors to malaria areas, i.e. the Lowveld, must obtain the prophylactic medicine to be taken before, during and after their trip, from their doctor or pharmacist.

South Africa has excellent medical facilities, with Doctors listed under 'Medical Practitioners' in the local telephone directories. Insurance covering travel, accidents, illness and hospitalization is advised for the duration of your stay and must be arranged at time of booking.

We highly recommend holiday insurance including cancellation insurance for all clients. This must be bought independently as it is not included in the retreat price.

 

-          All advised rates are in AED. All are valid as specified and include the services of English speaking licensed local station guides, air-conditioned vehicles, meals only where specified in the itinerary breakdown, and government tax and service charges. Rates do not include airfares or departure taxes unless specified. All efforts are made to operate the itineraries as listed; however, we reserve the right to alter itineraries without notice should uncontrollable local conditions force us to do so

-          A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the retreat price is required to confirm your booking & secure your place

-          100% payment should be received 30 days before travel date

-          Failure to complete all payments by the due date will result in automatic cancellation of your booking, no refunds will be given

-          Cancellation policy: Deposit non-refundable. 30 days before check in date or any no show shall result in full cancellation charge (100% of total retreat amount)  

-          By registering for a retreat, you acknowledge that Moon Retreats does not make any representation, warranty, or guarantee as to whether you will ultimately attain a cure for any health condition or disease

-          Moon Retreats reserve the right to cancel or postpone a retreat, in our sole discretion. If we cancel or postpone a retreat, we will use reasonable efforts to reschedule the cancelled or postponed retreat within 24 months from its original start date. Booking fees paid by clients for a cancelled or postponed retreat shall be fully refunded to the clients. Refund process takes between 15 and 20 working days
